Physical Therapists evaluate and treat diagnoses that inhibit the ability to perform everyday function or recreational activities. This can range from diagnoses such as ankle sprains, post-stroke, or someone who just underwent joint surgery. Physical therapists evaluate a persons strength, flexibility, range of motion, posture, balance, body mechanics, coordination and endurance. After the evaluation is completed a physical therapist will come up with an individualized treatment plan that will improve any impairments found during the evaluation. The goal is to return an individual to pain-free everyday function or pain-free recreational activities.
